SUSIE RENETTE WALL

Susie Renette Wall, daughter of John P. and Lena Derksen Wall, was born on Dec. 13, 1941 on a farm in the Reedley, Calif. community. Here she attended the county grade school, and in 1959 was graduated from Reedley High School. The following year she continued her education in the Reedley Junior College.

At the age of 12, during the preaching of the Word of God in the Dinuba Mennonite Brethren Church, she recognized her lost condition and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. On Oct. 18, 1953, she was baptized upon the confession of her faith and united with the Mennonite Brethren Church for fellowship. She enjoyed attending Sunday school as well as church services. She loved her Lord and Savior and was always willing to share in the family devotions.

At the time of her death she was doing secretarial work for the Gudeman Manufacturing Company of Visalia, Calif.

On August 17 she complained that she wasn't feeling well and was taken to the Dinuba hospital. Her condition grew steadily worse and at approximately 4 a.m. on August 18, 1961 her soul took its leave to be with its Maker. We as a family are shocked at her sudden and early departure. Yet, we want to yield to the will of the Lord and look forward with hope and anticipation of seeing her again. She reached the age of 19 years, eight months and five days. Those who remain to mourn her departure are her parents, of Reedley; two brothers, John H. Wall of Selma, Calif. and Walter Wall, Reedley; five sisters, Victoria, Mrs. Rodney Hutchings of Dinuba, Kathryn [sic Katherine], Mrs. C. P. Dick of Reedley, Mary Ann, Mrs. Dean Penner of Reedley, Alma Mae of the home, and Lydia, Mrs. Don Estes of Visalia.

Besides these there are two sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, a number of uncles, aunts, nephews, and nieces, as well as many other relatives and friends who stand by in this hour of sorrow.

The memorial service was held in the Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church on Monday, August 21, with Rev. Dan Friesen and Rev. Henry L. Janzen officiating. — The Family.
