Jacob C. Wall

Jacob C. Wall, our loving husband and father, was born June 2, 1868, in South Russia. In 1874 at the age of 6 years he migrated with his parents, Rev. and Mrs. Cornelius M. Wall, to America and settled down at what is now Henderson, Neb. It was here that he received his education.

He realized his lost condition without a Saviour and was baptized on June 16, 1889, and received into the E. M. B. church. He remained a faithful member until the end of his life, serving his Master faithfully in Sunday school and other church work.

On August 14, 1892, he was united in marriage to Anna Quiring with whom he shared joy and sorrow for a period of over 50 years, until she passed away on Nov. 28, 1942.

To this union three sons and two daughters were born of whom one son and one daughter preceded him in death. They lived at Henderson and Litchfield, Neb. and at Lustre, Mont. where mother passed away. He was engaged in the public school teaching profession for 25 years. When the E. M. B. church publication was initiated he was the editor for a period of years.

On July 25, 1944, father was married to Mrs. Marie Friesen of Dallas, Oregon with whom he shared joy and sorrow for 11 years, five months and three days. Soon after their marriage, he had trouble with his eyesight. An operation proved only partially successful, and he finally lost his eyesight completely during the last years. His wish was that it would be restored, but this was not granted during his lifetime. In later years his health failed him, also. He received loving and tender care from mother during all these years. He went to his heavenly reward at 8:00 a.m. Dec. 28, 1955. He reached the age of 87 years, six months and 23 days.

He leaves to mourn their loss his wife; two sons, John of Dallas, Ore. and A. Jerom [sic Jerome] of Laurel, Mont.; two daughters, Lena, Mrs. J. K. Fast and Susie, Mrs. Ben H. Friesen, both of Dallas; One brother, A. C. Wall, of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Peter P. Epp and Mrs. Dietrich Schierling of Henderson, Nebr. and Mrs. Peter H. Gade of Reedley, Calif.; two daughters-in-law, two sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and a host of friends. — The Family.
