ELIZABETH BULLER WALL

Elizabeth Buller Wall was born May 9, 1854, in the village of Paulsheim in South Russia. At the age of 17 she found her Lord and was baptized upon the confession of her faith by elder Jacob Buller, and was taken into the membership of the Alexanderwohl church.

In the year 1874 she came to America with her parents and settled near Buhler, Kansas. Here she joined the Hoffnungsau church. Later when the Buhler Mennonite church was organized she transferred her membership there.

She was united in holy Matrimony with Klaas Wall on May 9, 1876. They were permitted to live together 50 years and 11 months. Their marriage was blessed with eight children. Preceding her in death was her husband who passed away April 27, 1927, and three children who died in their infancy; also two daughters-in-law, Margaretha Schroeder Wall and Maria Schmidt Wall, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was a loving mother, was of a sociable nature and liked to have company. Also she liked to hear singing, although she could not sing herself. Her favorite song was “When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder I’ll Be There.”

Since father’s death she had a great longing to go home. Often she could not understand why she had to remain here. She has often been very sick. On Oct. 15, 1944, she fell and broke a leg. She was then taken to the hospital for a short time. When she came back she was taken care of by her daughter, Katherina Fehdrau, with the help of Mrs. D. B. Neufeldt and Mrs. Herman Neufeldt.

On Oct. 29, 1945, she was taken to the Old People’s Home in Goessel. Here she had very good care. The sisters often sang for her and she appreciated this very much and again and again asked them to sing for her.

She went Home to eternal rest on Oct. 24, 1946, reaching the age of 92 years, five months, and five days.

She leaves to mourn her departure four sons, Abraham, Klaas, Peter and John; one daughter, Katharina; two daughters-in-law, Mrs. Mary Wall and Alice Wall; one son-in-law, Henry Fehdrau; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, John Buller of Buhler and three sisters, Mrs. W. W. Johnson and Mrs. John Voth of Buhler, and Mrs. Frank Regier, Moundridge. – The bereaved family.
