ARON J. WALL

Aron J. Wall, first-born child of Rev. Jacob A. and Elizabeth Fast Wall, started life's journey May 19, 1886 on the farm two and one-half miles southeast of Mt. Lake, Cottonwood County, Minn. Here he grew up and attended public and Bible school.

In 1905 he accepted Christ as his personal Saviour and upon confession of his faith was baptized by Elder Heinrich I. Dick in June and received into the membership of the Bruderthaler Church, now Evangelical Mennonite Brethren Church of Mt. Lake.

On June 4, 1908 he joined hands in holy matrimony with our mother, Susanna Becker, Elder H. I. Dick, officiating. They moved on a farm east of Mt. Lake and lived there until 1916, when they with many others moved as pioneers to the prairies of northeastern Montana and homesteaded in the Volt community. In 1948 they retired in Wolf Point, after 40 years of successful farming.

In church he took part in the choir, missionary endeavors, as teacher or superintendent in the Sunday school most of his life, as trustee or church board member for many years. He was also instrumental in the construction of the Lustre E. M. B. Church and the United Mennonite Church in Wolf Point, where they became fellowship members and he served as deacon for 19 years. In the E. M. B. Conference he served as trustee for six years. He with others took part in forming the Equity Co-op Assn. and served as chairman or board member for 27 years. He served for about 20 years on the Trinity Hospital Board. About 500 people have been given treatments by him in the setting of bones.

The Lord blessed this union with 55 years and four months of married life and they were privileged to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary in 1958.

Six children were born to this union: Orlando J. and wife Lena, Frazer, Mont.; Henry S. (deceased); David Aron and wife Agnes, Wolf Point, Mont.; Katharina S. and husband Herman Wiens, Wolf Point; Laura E. and husband Abe J. Goertzen, Dalmeny, Sask.; and Irvin A. and wife Amanda of Wolf Point.

He leaves to mourn his sudden departure his wife Susanna; the children, 31 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mrs. Sara (H. F.) Janzen of Mt. Lake, Mrs. A. C. (Elizabeth) Wall of Dallas, Ore., Mrs. Fred (Anna) Mehrer of Portland, Ore., Mrs. Peter P. (Maria) Wiens of West Point, Mrs. Peter G. (Martha) Teichroew of Dallas, Ore.; two brothers, Jacob D. of Frazer, and Frank A. of Dallas, Ore.

Preceding him in death were three brothers, two sisters, one son, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Once as a young man father was very sick, and in the fall of 1900 a serious heart condition developed, from which he did not fully recover. He passed away quietly at home on Oct. 3, 1963, reaching the age of 77 years, four and one-half months.

Memorial services were conducted in the Lustre E. M. B. Church on Oct. 7 with Rev. Lloyd R. Pankratz officiating. — The Family.
