LARGE ATTENDANCE AT FUNERAL OF FARMER KILLED BY LIGHTNING
Montgomery, Ind. — One of the largest funerals held in this vicinity in recent months took place Saturday afternoon, July 17, when Herman Wagler, 36 year old farmer was carried to his final resting place.
Wagler and his team of horses were killed by a bolt of lightning which struck a shed in which he had taken shelter during a rain storm. Although there were no eyewitnesses, it is believed that he died instantly.
The funeral took place at the Abe Wagler home. The wife and four children survive.
