EVELYN SUSIE VOTH

Evelyn Susie Voth was born March 6, 1919, at Goessel, Kan., to Peter S. and Anna (Fast) Voth. She had a happy childhood and enjoyed picking wildflowers and fishing.

She took catechism under P. H. Unruh. She was baptized May 31, 1936, and became a member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church near Goessel.

She attended Gordon Grade School and graduated from Goessel High School in 1938. She graduated from Bethel College, North Newton, in 1953. She earned her master's degree from Emporia State Teachers College in 1962.

She taught school 41 years. Her teaching career followed this path: six years in rural schools in the Goessel area—Maple Hill, Emmenthal and South Bloomfield; seven years, fourth grade, Hillsboro Elementary School; two years, fifth grade, Newton; 15 years, third grade, Hutchinson; 11 years, fourth grade, Goessel Grade School. She loved her students and was considered an excellent teacher.
