MRS. SOPHIE VOTH

After a lengthy illness, Mrs. Sophie Voth passed away in the Regina Hospital on October 12. She was born to Tom and Margaret Cornelson on September 29, 1933, and graduated from the Herbert (Saskatchewan) high school and Bible school. In her youth she realized her need of a Saviour and made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ. She was baptized August 22, 1948 and accepted into the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church. She was active in DVBS and Sunday school teaching, youth work and ladies aid. After completing a business course she worked as a secretary in Herbert.

She married Abram J. Voth in July, 1955 and the couple was blessed with one son. She was active in the community. Although the past few years of illness restricted her activities, she realized that each new day was a gift of life from God. Her cheerful living and firm belief in God were an example to those around her. On October 12, with her family at her bedside, she was quietly called to be with her Lord. The funeral service was held on October 15 at the Herbert Mennonite Brethren Church.

She leaves to mourn her husband Abe and son Randy; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Cornelson; two sisters, Mrs. Ed (Evelyn) Peters and Mrs. George (Bernice) Jering; one brother, Clarence Cornelson; and many other relatives and friends.
