LEON ABRAHAM VOTH

Leon Abraham Voth was born into the home of Willie and Lena (Enns) Voth on May 24, 1938. On May 24,1960, Leon's twenty-second birthday, the Heavenly Father exalted him into the presence of the Lord after a six weeks' illness of cancer.

In May of 1944, just before he was six years old, he attended vacation Bible school at Highway school. One evening during these two weeks his father approached him about the necessity of accepting Christ as his Savior. To this his reply was that Ruth Mouttet, his teacher, had told him how and he was saved. Even during his final illness this experience, to him, was the time he had been saved, and to the end he never expressed a doubt of salvation, although he regretted that he had not served Christ more faithfully. His one concern during the last few weeks was to be able to reach his many friends for the Lord Jesus.

Leon received his grade school education in Highway school of Mayes county. For two years of his high school he attended the Oklahoma Bible academy and two at Chouteau high school. He then attended Grace Bible Institute one year, at which time he decided to enter the business field. He lacked from April 8 to the end of the school term of finishing his senior year at Northeastern State college in Tahlequah, Okla., majoring in business education, when he came home ill.

At Northeastern he was president of the Men's Independent Campus Association and had been given a certificate designating him to appear in the 1959-1960 “Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges” from Northeastern State college. He took part in many college activities.

On June 1, 1952 Leon was baptized by Rev. G. B. Regier and received into the fellowship of the Eden Mennonite church of Inola where he remained a member in good standing till called Home.

Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Abraham J. Enns and G. J. Voth, and two uncles, Ted S. Enns and Rudolph R. Penner. Expecting to follow Leon are his parents, two sisters, Delores Jane and Thelma Ann, one brother, Clarence George; one grandmother, Mrs. G. J. Voth, uncles, aunts, cousins and many friends. — The Family.
