HENRY PETER VOTH

Henry Peter Voth, was born Sept. 7, 1872, in South Russia. In 1875 his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Petr Voth, moved from Russia to Mt. Lake, Minn., bringing little Henry with them.

After a life of varied experience and considerable travel, Henry moved to Wichita eleven years ago. At the age of 80, on March 31, 1953, he was baptized upon confession of faith and on the following May 24 was formally received into the fellowship of the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church and the larger fellowship of the Church of Jesus Christ.

Last Saturday before the dawn, a voice spoke to him in the night, inviting him to leave this earth he knew for greater knowing, to lose the life he had for greater life, to leave the friends he loved for greater loving, to find a land more kind even that the kind loving home he knew.

He is survived by his sons, J. Milo and H. Ara; his daughter, Mrs. Melba l. Palmer; his sisters Helen, Anna, Mrs. Elizabeth Turner, and Mrs. J. B. Muller; his brother, James A.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Dec. 6, 1955, at the Lorraine Avenue Mennonite Church, with the pastor, G. S. Stoneback, in charge.
