CYNTHIA ANN VOTH

Cynthia Ann Voth, daughter of Arthur A. and Anna Mae Gross Voth of Akron, Pa., was born on July 2, 1954. She was by all appearances normal and healthy. During the years she with her sisters brought much joy into our family circle.

The latter part of May it was noted that her abdomen was larger than normal; it was established she had a malignant kidney, a congenital condition. It was too late for an operation. God led us to pray for the healing of her body, at the same time seeking what God would have us learn, it being our ultimate desire that God be honored and glorified through this experience. We felt led to seek available medical help, knowing that God could use this toward her healing, if that would be His will.

There were series of treatments at the local hospital and in Boston. Several weeks after the latter series God touched her body, all signs of the illness disappeared and she enjoyed normal health for six weeks. The malignancy again grew and she received another series of treatments in Philadelphia. Her health continued to fail and breathing became difficult. She was a witness in the patient and uncomplaining endurance of her illness and the treatments; on numerous occasions she expressed appreciation for the efforts to help her and the care given her.

Early in the morning of Dec. 23 she folded her hands and Jesus took her to be with Himself. Her parting has brought great sorrow into our lives but we know her departure was in God's plan.

She leaves to mourn her departure her parents and sisters Susan and Sandra (twin sister); her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob F. Voth of Route 2, Newton, Kansas; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, Dec. 27, at the Bethel Mennonite church in Lancaster with the pastor, Rev. Ward W. Shelly, in charge and Rev. S. Glenn Esh, chaplain at the MCC headquarters, assisting.

We thank God for His presence and the strength He has given daily and pray that He will continue to reveal His purposes in this experience.
