Death Claims Former Manager of M. B. Publishing House

Hillsboro, Kan. — Funeral services for Abraham J. Voth, 70, former manager of the Mennonite Brethren Publishing House and Bookstore here, were held Feb. 23 at the Hillsboro M. B. Church. Rev. Marvin Hein, pastor, and Rev. Orlando Harms officiated.

Mr. Voth suffered a fatal heart attack Feb. 17 while driving to his home in Hillsboro. The car moved slowly into a yard and came to rest against a hedge.

A native of Bingham Lake, Minn., he came to Hillsboro to attend Tabor College Academy and completed a Business Education course. After teaching in Marion County public schools and at the Wichita Business College, he joined the publishing house staff in 1929. During his tenure he served as manager of both the publishing house and bookstore.

From 1951 to 1964 he was employed by the Back to the Bible Broadcast, Lincoln, Neb., and then returned here. He was employed part time at the publishing house at the time of his death.

Survivors include his widow, the former Martha Stelting; three children, Mrs. Edmer Cornelsen of Hutchinson, Mr. Edward Rysdyk of Grand Rapids, Mich.; and Richard of Buenos Aires, Argentina; nine grandchildren; one brother, P. J. Voth of Mt. Lake, Minn.; and one sister, Mrs. Justina Nickel of Wolf Point, Mont.
