THREE MEMBERS OF PRETTY PRAIRIE CHURCH DIED IN SAME WEEK
Pretty Prairie, Kan. — Three members of the First Mennonite Church here passed away during a three-day period last week.
Lawrence Voran, 61, died unexpectedly at his home Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 21. He had been in ill health for some time following a stroke. He had lived in the community for 23 years.
Survivors include the widow, of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Frances [sic Francis] Bornowsky of Newton, Mrs. A. J. Heinz [sic Hinz] of Clinton, Okla., and Mrs. Rupert Penner of Whittier, Calif.; and two brothers, Carl and Paul, both of Prettty Prairie.
Ed P. Graber, life-long resident of the community, passed away Tuesday evening, Dec. 21, at the home of his son, Victor E. Graber.
Survivors, in addition to the widow, are two sons, Elmer and Victor, a daughter, Mrs. Helen Stucky; a half-brother, Ben P. Graber, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Lena Waltner and Mrs. Lizzie Soft.
Funeral services for Voran and Graber were held at the church last Friday morning and afternoon, respectively, with Rev. Ben Rahn officiating.
Mrs. Frances Graber, 88, also of the Pretty Prairie church, died Thursday, Dec. 23. (See "Newton and Vicinity").
