BLOOD DISEASE FATAL TO SMALL CHILD

Pretty Prairie, Kans. — A short illness diagnosed as a blood ailment proved fatal to Dennis Voran, two and a half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Allen Voran of Kingman. He passed away at the Halstead hospital on July 28, and funeral services were held at the Bethany church near Kingman on July 30.

The parents and a six-year-old brother survive.

DENNIS ARLIN VORAN

Funeral services for Dennis Arlin Voran, youngest son of Allen and Hermie Graber Voran, Cleveland, Kansas, were held Saturday, July 31, at the Bethany Mennonite church near Kingman, Kansas. He was born Jan. 28, 1946, at Kingman, and departed this life July 28, 1948, at Halstead, Kansas. He brought much sunshine and happiness into his home for exactly two and one-half years.

Dennis was a very active and happy child. He especially liked to sing, and some of his favorite songs were: "Heavenly Sunshine," "Jewels," "Into My Heart." "Jesus Loves the Little Children," "Fishers of Men." Also his favorite prayer was "Now I lay me down to steep," and others.

On May 13 he was taken to the Kingman hospital for treatment. After four days he was well enough to be taken home, but he did not regain his full strength and on July 20 was taken to the Halstead hospital, where it was found that he was suffering from leukemia. He was given the best of medical care, but after eight days our Lord took him to the Heavenly Home where is no more pain and suffering.

Several days before he was taken to the Halstead hospital he said, "Mommy, I want to see Jesus," and then he took her hand and said "Let's go to Jesus." Little did we realize that his wish would so soon be fulfilled.

Those who remain to mourn his departure are his parents; one brother, Benny Allen; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. W. Voran, Cleveland, and Mr. and Mrs. Ben P. O. Graber, Pretty Prairie; and many other relatives and friends.

There was an angel band in Heaven
That was not quite complete.
So God took our darling babe
To fill the vacant seat.
