Retired Dentist Dies In California

Fresno, Calif. — Dr. G. O. Vogt 79, retired dentist of Fresno, died June 11 in the Clovis Memorial Hospital. He had been in the hospital since April when he fell and fractured a hip and wrist.

The memorial service was held Monday June 16, at Cairns Mortuary in Reedley. Rev. George S. Stoneback, pastor of the Mennonite Community Church of Fresno officiated.

A native of Kansas, Dr. Vogt began his dentistry practice in Sanger, Calif, in 1919. In 1929 he moved his office to Corcoran where he remained until his retirement in 1962. He and Mrs. Vogt then moved to Fresno and became members of the Mennonite Community Church.

Dr. Vogt had a lifelong interest in music, and as a young man sang in a quartet in the Garden Township community near Hesston, Kan. In recent months he found much satisfaction playing the organ in his home.

Surviving are his widow, Emily with whom he would have celebrated the golden wedding anniversary on June 24; a son, James; one brother, Dr. R .H. Vogt, a retired dentist of Reedley; and one sister, Mrs. Anna Eyman, also of Reedley.
