11-Yr.-Old Oklahoma Youth Follows Parents In Death

Hillsboro, Kan. — Double funeral services were conducted at the Mennonite Brethren church in Corn, Okla. on Sunday, Dec. 16, for Mrs. George D. Vogt, 52, and her 11-year-old son, Jay Lyndon, who were fatally injured in a highway accident Dec. 1.

With the death of Jay Lyndon on Dec. 11 in an Oklahoma City hospital, the crash claimed its third victim. Mrs. Vogt died of her injuries on Dec. 8, and the husband and father died at the crash scene.

The Vogts, well known farm family of the Colony, Okla. community, were en route to Hillsboro to visit a son, George D. Vogt, Jr., a student at Tabor College, when their car ran into the rear of a truck near Watonga, Okla. Funeral services for Mr. Vogt were held at the Corn M.B. church Dec. 7

Wilma Jean Vogt, who was serving as a teacher in the Congo, returned to the homeland to attend the funeral service for her mother and brother.
