Elderly Moundridge Couple Killed
Moundridge, Kan. — Double funeral services are to be held at the Eden Mennonite Church near here at 10:30 a.m. Friday for Jonas H. Vogt, 77, and his wife, Ida (Stucky) Vogt, 76, who were instantly killed Tuesday morning in a highway accident east of Hutchinson.
The couple were driving west on US-50 when their car skidded on icy pavement near a shelter belt and was hit by an oncoming truck pulling a mobile home. The car was sheared in two.

Services Held For Kansas Couple Who Died in Accident
Moundridge, Kan. — Double funeral services were held at the Eden Mennonite Church near here Friday forenoon, Jan. 21, for Jonas H. and Ida Vogt, 77 and 76 years of age, who were killed in a highway accident on Jan. 18.
The largely attended services were conducted by Rev. Walter Neufeld, the pastor, and Dr. H. A. Fast of North Newton.
The elderly Moundridge couple were traveling toward Hutchinson on US-50 to attend the funeral of a nephew when their car went out of control on an icy stretch of highway and was hit by an oncoming truck pulling a mobile home. Both died at the scene.
A native of Pretty Prairie community, Mr. Vogt was married to Anna Kaufman of Moudnridge in 1919. She died in 1960. His survivors include two sons and five daughters and their families.
Mrs. Vogt, the former Ida Goering, was born near here and married Jacob P. Stucky in 1912. He died in 1958, and she married Mr. Vogt in 1962. Her survivors include two sosn and three daughters and their families.

MRS. IDA VOGT
Ida Goering Stucky Vogt, daughter of Peter and Mary Stucky Goering, was born June 5, 1895 near Moundridge, Kan. She received her elementary education at the Peaceful School.
She was baptized upon her confession of faith and received as a member in the Hopefield Mennonite Church on Dec. 26, 1910. On Dec. 19, 1926 she transferred her membership to the Eden Mennonite Church where she remained a faithful member until her departure.
On Aug. 4, 1912 she was united in marriage to Jacob P. Stucky. This union was blessed with three sons and three daughters. They shared life's joys and sorrows for 45 years. On June 8, 1958 her husband preceded her in death.
On Feb. 23, 1962 she was united in marriage to Jonas H Vogt with whom she shared life's joys and sorrows for almost 10 years.
She was an understanding mother and always ready to help her children with their problems. Her desire was that each member of the family might live a true Christian life and someday be united again in the eternal home.
On Jan. 18, 1972 on the way to her nephew's funeral, she and her husband were called to their eternal home as a result of an auto accident. She attained the age of 76 years, seven months and 13 days.
She leaves to mourn her departure six children, Esther and husband Dan B. Schrag of Hutchinson, Frieda and husband Milton Schwartz of Pretty Prairie, Orlo and wife Edna, Willard and wife Verna, Alfred and wife Ellen, Helen and husband Harold Kaufman, all of Moundridge; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; six step-children and their families; two brothers, Edward P. and Pete Goering of McPherson; one sister, Mrs. Dan D. Kaufman of North Newton; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.
One son-in-law, two great-grandchildren, two brothers and seven sisters preceded her in death.
Double funeral services for Mrs. Vogt and her husband were conducted at the Eden Church on Saturday morning, Jan. 22, by Walter Neufeld and H. A. Fast.
