Daniel Vogt was born in Pastwa, South Russia, the 30th of April, 1884. In 1896 he came to America with his parents with whom he stayed till 22 years of age.

In 1905 the 11th of June, he was baptized by Heinrich Toews of the Bethel Mennonite Church.

Married to Elizabeth Dyck on the 11th of December, 1906, at Inman, Kansas. To this union there were born 10 children, of which one died in infancy.

1913 he with his family moved to Canada, where he lived for 10 years. In 1923 he came back to the United States, and settled near Meade.

About three years ago he had an attack of heart trouble. These attacks were repeated at intervals. These left his body in a weakened condition.

On the 25th day of March he went to Lakin to get some trees from his parents-in-law. On Saturday with his wife he was going to plant these in his garden. On the way to the garden he complained of not feeling well. The pains got worse instead of better. His wife begged him to go to the house but he said that he would be alright. Suddenly he sat down and said, "I'm faiting [sic fainting]." His wife tried to revive him and he seemed to regain consciousness. meantime, she sent to the neighbors for help. He seemed to faint again and she put his head on her lap. When help came they tried to lift him into the car. but another attack came on, from which he did not recover.

He leaves to mourn his wife, nine children, 5 boys and 4 girls, his father and mother, one sister and one brother and a host of friends.

He reached the age of 42 years, 10 months and 26 days. — Inman Review.
