— Mrs. Anna Vogt, 63, wife of Jonas Vogt of Route 1, Moundridge, died Dec. 15 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Eden Mennonite Church, with Rev. Arnold Nickel in charge. Survivors in addition to Mr. Vogt include two sons, five daughters, one brother and two sisters.

ANNA KAUFMAN VOGT

Mrs. Anna Kaufman Vogt, daughter of Peter J. and Anna Kaufman was born on Feb. 14, 1897 on a farm west of Moundridge, Kan. In her early childhood she experiences the trials of pioneer life and being the eldest of the children she helped much with the work outside.

Upon confession of faith in Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, she was baptized on Oct. 6, 1912 by Rev. Christian J. Goering and received into the membership of the Hoffnungsfeld Eden Church which later became the Eden Mennonite Church.

On Aug. 31, 1919 she was united in marriage to Jonas H. Vogt. the couple established their home on a farm near Moundridge. Here they shared life's joys and sorrows for over 41 years. This home was blessed with three sons and five daughters.

Though handicapped at times by her physical condition, she gave a good Christian witness through faithful attendance at church and through her willingness to help those in need.

About seven years ago she became seriously ill. Through prayer and new medical help she was relieved of her unusual condition and was permitted to enjoy a near normal life for another six and a half years.

This past September her health again began to fail. On Nov. 10 she was admitted to Mercy Hospital at Moundridge, later being transferred to Bethel Deaconess Hospital for further treatment. She endured great pain and suffering with much patience. Despite all medical aid she quietly departed this life the morning of Dec. 15, 1960. She reached the age of 63 years, 10 months and one day.

Those who remain to mourn her departure are her husband, Jonas H. Vogt, seven children, Weldon H. and wife Esther of Hesston; Letha and husband Eldo Ediger of Inman; Martin R. and wife Sylvia of Moundridge; Ellen and husband Alfred Stucky of Moundridge; Evelyn and husband Martin H. Goering of McPherson; Margie and husband Darrel Kaufman of Moundridge; Velma and husband James K. Neufeld of Minneapolis,Minn.; 14 grandchildren, two sisters, one brother, five sisters-in-law and five brothers-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were one infant son and one infant grandson.
