MRS. A. H. UNRUH (NEE KATHERINA TOEWS)

Mrs. A. H. Unruh (nee Katherina Toews) died on November 7 in the MSA Hospital, Abbotsford, B.C., at the age of 87. The funeral service took place in Clearbrook on November 12.

Obituary: 1963 Nov 22 p. 18

Mrs. Katerina Unruh, late of 31926 Oak avenue, Clearbrook, passed away at the MSA General Hospital on Thursday. Mrs. Unruh was born in South Russia, 1876. She had been in British Columbia for four years and made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Lydia Friesen. Her husband, Rev. Dr. A. H. Unruh, predeceased her in 1961.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. from the M.B. Church at Clearbrook with Rev. H. H. Janzen officiating. Interment followed in the IOOF cemetery, Chilliwack.

Surviving are two daughters: Mrs. Lydia Friesen, Clearbrook, and Mrs. Catherine Redekop, St. Catharines, Ontario; three sons: Abe Unruh, a missionary in India, John Unruh, Toronto and Dr. Henry Unruh, Rossland, B.C., as well as 19 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
