PIONEER IMMIGRANT DIES AT FREEMAN

Freeman, S. D. — Funeral services were conducted here recently for Mrs. Helena Koehn Unruh, 92, who was among the pioneer Mennonite settlers in this area in 1875.

Mrs. Unruh died at the Salem home for Aged here, having been a resident of the home since 1954. Before that she lived for a number of years at the Tieszen Home in Marion.

Born in South Russia, she came with her parents to Parker, S. D. at the age of five. She and her husband, John C. Unruh, formerly lived at Mt. Lake, Minn.
