KATE UNRUH

Kate Unruh was born Apr. 3, 1901 at Pauls Valley, Okla to John and Elizabeth Jantz. The family moved to Carnegie where she married Henry H. Unruh on Nov. 25, 1926.

They farmed southeast of Meno, and she also cooked for several years at the Meno Elementary School and for church camps. She died on Aug. 11.

Services were held at the New Hopedale Mennonite Church, of which she was a member, with John W. Voth officiating. Burial was in the New Hopedale memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Henry H., a son, Gene Unruh of Anaheim, Calif., two daughters, Kathryn (Mrs. Vernon) Hiebert of Cleo Springs and Dorothy (Mrs. Wilbert) Wiebe of Whitewater, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Dan Jantz of San Diego, Calif.; two sisters, Mrs. Philbena Janz of Inola and Mrs. Anna Fogelstrom of Cashmere, Wash. She was preceded in death by six brothers and four sisters.
