JAMES A. UNRUH
James A. Unruh, former resident of the Hillsboro, Kan. community, was born to Edwin and Lena (Wiens) Unruh on June 13, 1926 and died in Seattle, Wash. on June 6, 1974 at age 47 after being ill for several months with cancer.
He became a member of the Johannestal Church by baptism in his early youth.
He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Bethel College, North Newton. He moved to Arden, Wash. to develop and farm a new tract of land. Later he moved to Seattle where he was engaged in the real estate business.
He was instrumental in establishing new Mennonite congregations in both Warden and Seattle. He was deeply devoted to his Christian faith, and was a member of the South Seattle Mennonite church at the time of his death.
He is survived by one son, Martin, of Seattle; three daughters, Judy, Delore and Katheren of Garden Grove, Calif.; a brother, john, of Warden, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Lois Reimer of Smithville, Ohio; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Unruh of North Newton, Kan.
Graveside services were held June 8 at the Washington Memorial Park, Seattle. Rev. Milton Harder of South Seattle officiated.
