— Mrs. Helena Unruh, longtime resident of the Buhler community died at her home there Monday afternoon at the age of 89. Mrs. Unruh was born in South Russia on May 21, 1871. Funeral services were to be held Thursday afternoon at the Buhler Mennonite Church, with Rev. Irvin Richert in charge. Survivors include two sons, three daughters, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

MRS. H. T. UNRUH

Helena Zielke Unruh, daughter of Henry Zielke and Anna Teske Zielke, was born in the village of Waldheim in southern Russia on May 21, 1871. She came to Kansas during the immigration of Mennonites from Russia ito America in 1874.

At the age of 17 she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized on Nov. 4, 1888 by Rev. Dietrich Gaeddert of the Hoffnungsau Mennonite Church. She later transferred her membership to the Buhler Mennonite Church, of which she remained a faithful member until her death.

She was united in marriage with Henry T. Unruh on Feb. 11, 1892. They shared joys and hardships for more than 40 years, until Mr. Unruh died on Jan. 28, 1932. To this union seven children were born, three sons and four daughters. One son died in infancy and a daughter, Lena, passed away in 1944.

On Monday morning, Feb. 6, she quietly went to be with her Lord. She leaves to mourn her departure, Herman and John of Wichita, Mary of the home, Mrs. Katharina Walters of Visalia, Calif., and Mrs. Minnie Seitz of Hutchinson; besides two sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, seven grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Mother patiently endured her long illness and often praised her Lord by singing. She was always full of loving kindness and prayer and will be deeply missed by her family.
