Funeral services for Mrs. Eva H. Unruh, 77, were held Dec. 31 at the Friedenstal Mennonite Church near Durham, with Rev. J. W. Bergen officiating. Mrs. Unruh died Dec. 27 at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton after an illness of several weeks. The former Eva Schultz, she was married to Adam H. Unruh in 1910 and they farmed in the Durham community for a number of years. Mr. Unruh died in 1935, and his wife continued to live on the farm until 1947. Since 1949 she had resided in Hillsboro. Surviving are three daughters, three sons, 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one brother, Jacob Schultz of LaFontaine, Kan., and one sister, Mrs. August Unruh of Pawnee Rock.

MRS. ADAM H. UNRUH

Mrs. Adam H. Unruh (nee Eva Schultz), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Schultz, was born Feb. 7, 1887, in McPherson County, Kan. and departed this life Dec. 27, 1964 at Bethel Hospital, Newton, reaching the age of 77 years, 10 months, and 10 days.

She was baptized upon the confession of her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ on March 30, 1913 by Rev. H. R. Voth, and received into the fellowship of the Friedenstal Mennonite Church where she remained a member until her death.

She was united in marriage to Adam H. Unruh on Oct. 19, 1910. They established their home near Durham, Kan. where they shared joy and sorrow for 25 years.

Her husband went to be with the Lord in 1935, leaving her a widow for 29 years and 10 days. This union was blessed with seven children; four daughters and three sons. One daughter preceded her in death in 1946.

In 1949 she moved to Hillsboro, Kan. where she lived until her death.

She was active and in good health until about a year ago. On Dec. 7 she entered the Bethesda Hospital, Goessel, and on Dec. 24 was transferred to the Bethel Hospital in Newton, where she went to be with her Saviour.

She leaves to mourn, her children: Helen and husband William Lais of Hillsboro, Kan.; Rebecca and husband Herbert Funk of Marion; Edna and husband Arthur Kaiser of Durham; Norman and wife Marcella of Durham; Louis and wife Shirley of McPherson; Dale and wife Phillis of Salina; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one brother, Jacob Schultz at La Fontaine; one sister, Matilda, Mrs. August Unruh of Pawnee Rock, as well as relatives, neighbors, and a host of friends.
