Unruh, Donald (1931-1934)
Mennonite Weekly Review obituary: 1934 Jan 24 p. 4
Birth date: 1929
text of obituary:
. . .
— Death finally claimed the life of Donald Unruh, five year old [sic two year old] son of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Unruh of Goessel, who was accidentally shot with a rifle bullet at the home of his parents on New Year's day. Because the bullet was lodged so dangerously close to the brain, physicians considered it futile to attempt to remove it. For a time the boy showed signs of recovery, but the infection which set in baffled all medical skill and the boy's death came early Tuesday morning. Funeral services will be held at the Alexanderwohl church Thursday afternoon, with Rev. J. H. Epp, Hillsboro, and Rev. P. H. Richert in charge. The little boy was a grandson of Rev. P. H. Unruh of Goessel, and a great-grandson of P. P. Unruh of Newton.
