text of obituary:
CHARLES MARK UNRUH
Charles Mark Unruh, son of Mr. and Mrs. Orville Unruh, was born Nov. 11, 1954 at Goessel, Kansas, and passed away at the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton, Kansas, on Nov. 14, 1960 at the age of six years and three days.
We will remember Charles as a loveable boy, experiencing all the joys and disappointments that most boys do, although to each parent these are always special. During the last several years he seemed to be exceptionally desirous of the love and care that Mother could give and it seems that the love and devotion generally expressed in a long lifetime were expressed in these short years. Being able to help his daddy around the farm was always a great delight. He developed a thorough knowledge of farm machinery and livestock and was fast becoming an able assistant.
Charles was always interested in sports, being especially enthusiastic about baseball. He attended Sunday school regularly and he was proud of his recent accomplishment in memorizing John 3:16.
His schooling as a first grader in the Goessel Grade School was interrupted Nov. 3 when it was necessary to take him to the Bethesda Hospital. On Nov. 10, Charles was transferred to the Bethel Deaconess Hospital and there he was able to enjoy his birthday the following day. Because of the increasing severity of diseases known and unknown that raged in his body, God saw fit to take Charles Home late Monday night where once again he might be beautiful and whole as only a child can be.
We, as parents, were hopeful for the future of Charles. His absence in the family will be keenly felt, but we also know that if the Lord saw fit to take him from us. He must have greater plans for him.
Charles was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Unruh.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his father and mother and two sisters, Donna Rae and Sherilyn Sue; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Reimer; uncles and aunts, Alvin and Audry Boese, Lowell and Betty Unruh, Milton and Mary Reimer, John and Martha Reimer, Wilbert and Ruth Reimer, Eldon and Emile Reimer, Richard and Evelyn Reimer and Rosella Reimer; 18 cousins, and many young friends as well as older ones.
