MANITOBA PIONEER DIED AT AGE OF 85; LEAVES 241 DESCENDANTS
Altona, Manitoba. — Funeral services were held at the Bergthaler church here on Nov. 27 for Mrs. Diedrich Unrau, 85, one of the early settlers in the Altona district who came from Russia in 1874. She passed away at the home of her son, Derk Unrau, on Nov. 24. Rev Jacob Unrau, minister of the Sommerfelder hurch [sic] was in charge of the final services.
Mrs. Unrau is survived by a total of 241 descendants, including 11 children, 95 grandchildren, and 135 great-grandchildren. A total of 17 children were born to the family,of whom six died in infancy. It is interesting to note that all of the 11 surviving cheldren [sic] have observed their 25th wedding anniversaries.
