MARIE RAMSEYER TSCHANTZ

Mrs. Marie Tschantz, widow of Peter Tschantz, died Sept. 10, 1963 at Woodbury, New Jersey, where she had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. George R. Kircher.

Mrs. Tschantz, daughter of Anna and John Ramseyer, was born in Neuchatel, Switzerland on April 5, 1871, and came to this country at the age of three years. She was one of nine children, all of whom have preceded her in death. She grew to womanhood in McLean County, Illinois and was married to Peter Tschantz on Dec. 17, 1895. They lived all of their married life in the vicinity of Pulaski, Iowa, where he preceded her in death Nov. 18, 1940.

She became a member of the Pulaski Mennonite Church by letter from Rev. Peter Schantz, Hudson, Ill., during the pastorate of Rev. Philip Roulet. She spent many active years in the church and remained a devoted and loyal member.

Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Kircher of Woodbury, N. J. and Mrs. Eloise Cooper of Spring Valley, Minn.; one grandson, William G. Kircher; two step-grandchildren, L. P. Cooper, Jr. and Mrs. Dale J. Digerness; also a large number of nieces and nephews.

The memorial service was conducted at the Pulaski Mennonite Church by her pastor, Frank R. Mitchell, on Sunday, Sept. 15, and interment was made in the west cemetery in Pulaski.
