Roy S. Troyer, son of Menno Z. and Susan Troyer, was born Oct. 13, 1889, in Ness County, Kansas. His death resulting from a coronary occlusion came on Sept. 15, 1966, while in his home.

He and Nora Miller were married on Dec. 25, 1910. Besides his companion, he is survived by his son, Ordo, Inglewood, Calif., daughter Vesta (Mrs. Paul Gingerich), Williamsburg, Iowa, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and five grandchildren. There also remain two brothers, Ora of Sarasota, Fla. and Menno of La Junta, Colo.; four sisters, Lillie (Mrs. Edward Steckley) and Bertha of Albany, Ore., Ida (Mrs. Floyd Kauffman), Minot, N. D. and Dorothy (Mrs. Leo Burkett), Hesston.

Roy's chief occupation in the years from 1907 until 1929 was teacher in elementary schools. He taught in various communities of Kansas and Oregon.

He with his family moved to Hesston, Kan. in 1929. Until a few years ago when he retired, he had owned and operated the Hesston Feed Mill and had partnership in the Royal Turkey Plant. Aside from his business operations, his dedication and abilities were indicated in such non-remunerative services as treasurer of the South Central Mennonite Conference Mission Board, member of Mennonite Mutual Aid, member of the Schowalter Villa local board, and vice-president of the Hesston State Bank.

Funeral services were held in the Hesston College Mennonite Church on Sunday afternoon, Sept. 18, in charge of the Pastor Peter Wiebe and Rev. Milo Kauffman. Interment was made in the Hesston Cemetery.
