Freeman. S. D. — Funeral services for Jacob Schwartz, widely known and respected pioneer settler of this community, were held at the Salem-Zion Mennonite church here March 22 and were widely attended. Officiating ministers were Rev. Russell Mast, the pastor, and Rev. Walter Gering of Mt. Lake, Minn.

Perry S. Troyer, well known resident of the Amish community near Hutchinson, Kans., died in a Hutchinson hospital March 19 after a year's illness. Survivors include his wife, ten brothers and sisters, two step-children. 21 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
