Four Die in Traffic And Farm Accidents
Sugarcreek, Ohio. — Farm and traffic accidents have claimed the lives of three Amish members — two in this immediate area — and a former bishop of Elmira, Ontario.
Noah R. Troyer, 56, of rural Sugarcreek was instantly killed on Nov. 15 while standing on the road here directing traffic as a turkey truck was being weighted. He was hit by an automobile; the driver of the car was not held. Mr. Troyer was a farmer and poultryman, and a deacon in the church.
Injuries suffered several days earlier in a 56-foot fall while removing scaffolding from a new silo proved fatal on Nov. 12 to Roman A. Miller, 19, son of Bishop and Mrs. Amos Miller of rural Apple Creek. He died in Aultman Hospital, Canton.
Near Coatesville, Pa., 17-year-old David Nissley suffered a ruptured aorta near the heart when thrown against the steering wheel of a tractor while hauling corn. He died several days later at the Coatesville Hospital. The parents are Amos J. and Rebecca Nissley.
Jesse Bauman, 74, of Elmira, Ont. was instantly killed in an 11-foot fall from a roof.
