LAURA TRIMBLE

Laura Loucks Trimble, daughter of Peter and Mary Loucks, was born near Moundridge, Kan. March 25, 1883, where she grew to womanhood and received her schooling.

On June 10, 1902, she was united in marriage to Charles W. Grant. This home was blessed with three children, one son and two daughters. Laura and her family lived in different places, and after the passing of her mother lived with and cared for her aged father for a number of years. For this her father and vamiy were very grateful.

After the passing of her father she moved to Hesston, Kan. where she made her home.

At her request she was baptized and joined the church of her parents, the Church of God in Christ Mennonite, on Jan. 26, 1958. To this faith in her weakness she was faithful.

Laura was not in good health for some years, nevertheless quite active. The last year or so her health began to decline. On July 2 she was taken to the Bethel Deaconess Hospital in Newton where she went into a coma and passed away July 5, 1959 at 1:00 p.m., apparently without regaining consciousness, at the age of 76 years, three months and 11 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure four children, Herbert of Waukegan, Ill., Anna, Mrs. Clarence Crist, Tulsa, Okla., Lottie, Mrs. Glen Christie, Nampa, Idaho, Peter whose address is not known; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; also two brothers and two sisters Jessie of Copeland, Kan., Jonas of Wichita, Kan., Dora, Mrs. Abe Jantz, and Samatha, Mrs. Noah Unruh, Galva, Kan.

Her husband, Charles W. Grant, her parents, two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held Tuesday forenoon, July 7, at 10 o’clock at the Meridian Mennonite Church. Rev. Frank Wenger and Rev. Milferd Wenger officiated at the church service and Rev. Harry Wenger had charge of the service at the grave.
