Homer Jay Townsend

Homer Jay Townsend, 37, an elementary school teacher in Milwaukee, Wis., a native of Newton, died unexpectedly Saturday (April 30, 1983) in Milwaukee.

Funeral arrangements will be announced by Petersen's Funeral Home.

He was born May 9, 1945, in Newton, the son of Samuel and Elizabeth Townsend. He attended school in Newton. He had taught in Milwaukee for more than 10 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Machelle Townsend of Milwaukee; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Townsend of Newton; two brothers, Billy of Wichita and Galen of Coconut Grove, Fla.; two sisters, Anita Tolbert of Newton and Teresa Williams of Topeka.
