Truck Drivers Killed On Road Projects
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR CORNELIUS HEPPNER HELD AT GREENDALE, B. C.
Sardia, B. C. — Two truck operators lost their lives recently in separate accidents near here on succeeding days.
Funeral services for Cornelius C. Heppner, 44, who died in an accident on the Fraser Canyon Highway Oct. 21, were held at the Mennonite Brethren church in Greendale. Rev. Rudy Janzen officiated, assisted by Rev. H. G. Dueck.
Officers reported Mr. Heppner was either thrown or fell from his truck, which continued on down the highway for about 600 yards and overturned.
Born in Russia in January 1915, he had resided here for 29 years. He leaves his wife and four daughters, all of the home.
On the following day a 19-year-old Chilliwack youth, John Wesley Toop, was instantly killed when crushed between the box and frame of the gravel truck he was driving. The truck was owned by P. C. Heppner, brother of Cornelius Heppner.
