Retired Teacher Dies At Salem, Oregon

Freeman, S. D. — Friends here received word of the passing of Mrs. Gerhard Toews, 67, retired teacher of Salem, Oregon, on Aug. 16.

Mrs. Toews and her husband taught in Nebraska for 10 years, in the Freeman community for 18 years, and continued teaching after moving to Salem. She was active in church and Sunday school work.

Mrs. Toews had been ill since December 1965, and underwent surgery in February of this year. She was the former Susie Neufeld of Mt. Lake, Minn.
