Hillsboro, Kans. — Funeral services for Mrs. Regina Renz Toews, 79, Mennonite immigrant from Russia in the 90’s were held Sept. 1 at the Mennonite Brethren church here. She died at the Salem hospital on Aug. 29.

In 1894, the year after her arrival from Russia, she pioneered on a homestead near Weatherford, Okla. Returning to Kansas, she married Frank F. Toews in 1898 and had lived in Hillsboro since his death in 1913. Surviving are four daughters and one son.

SERVICES HELD FOR PIONEER SETTLER

Hillsboro, Kans. — Funeral services for Mrs. Regina Renz Toews, 79, Mennonite immigrant from Russia in the 90’s were held Sept. 1 at the Mennonite Brethren church here. She died at the Salem hospital on Aug. 29.

In 1894, the year after her arrival from Russia, she pioneered on a homestead near Weatherford, Okla. Returning to Kansas, she married Frank F. Toews in 1898 and had lived in Hillsboro since his death in 1913. Surviving are four daughters and one son.
