CORNELIUS W. TOEWS

Cornelius W. Toews departed this life on December 21, 1961. He had been a member of the M. B. Church since Aug. 25, 1929. He was born in Krefeld, Man. In 1904 he homesteaded near Swalwell, Alta., and in 1930 he together with C. C. Toews began their farm at Linden. Br. Toews wrote, "Mr. and Mrs. C. C. Toews and I agreed to co-operate and incorporate our effort in farming and to the same extent our social life. It was agreed that I would be a member of the family with all reasonable privileges and responsibilities for the rest of my life." He leaves to mourn two brothers, Isaac of Crooked Creek, Alta., and John of Linden, Alta., the C. C. Toews family (no relation) and many friends. The funeral took place on December 27 in Linden.
