TWENTY-THREE YEAR OLD WORKER FATALLY BURNED IN FACTORY ACCIDENT
Niagara on the Lake, Ontario. — Funeral services were held here the other week for Peter Toews, 23, who suffered fatal burns in a factory accident at Chippawa, where he was employed.
In some manner the kettle of a smelter crashed to the ground, inflicting terrible burns as the molten mass was splashed over his body. A few minutes later the accident he was yet able to call for help, breathed a prayer and was then rushed to a hospital where he passed away five hours later.
Following funeral services here the body was shipped to Winkler, Manitoba, where interment was made. Mr. Toews is survived by his deeply bereaved wife and several children, who also returned to Winkler, where they expect to reside.
