● Katherine Toews, 89, of Hillsboro, sister of John J. Hiebert of Newton, died Sept. 21 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, with Dennis Fast and Clarence Hiebert officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. A native of Goessel, she had been a seven-year resident of Hillsboro. Other survivors include one other brother, Emanuel C. Hiebert of Anderson, Mo.; three sisters, Sara C. Funk of Hillsboro, Martha Plett of Tucson, Ariz., and Elizabeth Plett of Tahlequah, Okla. Her husband, Henry A. Toews, preceded her in death.
