Birth date: 1928 Jul 21
text of obituary:
Betty Lou Tiahrt, youngest daughter of Henry and Nettie Tiahrt, was born July 21, 1928, at Aberdeen, Idaho. Betty Lou left home to attend school on January 11 in the morning as usual; she completed the day’s school, but she could not return home again. She had left her earthly home for the last time. Because of the injury received through a school bus, she was taken to the doctor who gave her all the possible medical aid; but life ebbed away on January 22, exactly eleven days after the fatal accident. She reached the age of eight and one-half years.
She leaves to mourn her sudden departure her father and mother; two sisters, Valera Mae and Joyce Jeanette, and one brother, Henry Kenneth; one grandfather and grandmother; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. P. A. Wedel from the First Mennonite Church on January Wedel from the 1st Mennonite Church on January 24.
Betty Lou
The Master walked in His garden,
A beautiful flower was His quest,
He knew that sin always hardens,
So he looked for the fairest and best.
The Master searched from morn till night,
A white lily was found at the close of school,
With her face all shining and bright
Was it, could it be, our own Betty Lou.
Yes, My friends, the Master said,
I need her in the heavenly land;
And don’t forget that she is. not dead,
Her voice is heard on the celestial strand
The Master will come again some day,
Will He take you or will He take me?
Oh, may we all walk in His way.
We should all live holy, don’t you see?
