MRS. JOHANN THIESZEN

Our wife and mother, Aganetha Thieszen, nee Janzen, was born December 13, 1877, in Russia. She came to the United States with her parents at the age of one-half year.

On June 7, 1897, she was baptized upon her confession of faith by Elder Peter J. Friesen and received as a member into the Bethesda Mennonite church, Henderson, Nebsarka [sic Nebraska], where she remained a faithful member until her death.

She was united in holy matrimony with Johann Thieszen on August 16, 1900. They were privileged to observe their golden wedding anniversary in 1950. To this union were born eight children; of whom the following survive: Anna (Mrs. Dan E. Peters), John, Marie (Mrs. David E. Buller), Agnes, (Mrs. Peter J. Bergen) of Omaha, Nebraska, Gustav, and Emma (Mrs. Jake Epp). Two children preceded their mother in death. David at nine months and Tena at three months of age.

Mother had been in failing health for several months. She entered the hospital May 20, 1953, and was there for two weeks and one day. On May 21 she underwent a serious operation from which she did not recover. She passed to her heavenly home at 11:00 a.m. June 5, 1953, attaining the age of 75 years, five months and 23 days.

She leaves to mourn her departure her husband; four daughetrs [sic], two sons, four sons-in-law, two daughters-in-law, 25 grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three sisters and one brother; and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends. Six grandchildren, three brothers and three sisters preceded her in death.

She has been a good mother who gave much comfort to her family. She had a quiet disposition and did not complain. We know that we will meet her again. — The Johann Thieszen Family,
