● Funeral services were held May 12 at the Emmaus Mennonite Church, Whitewater, for Jacob E. Thiessen of rural Whitewater. He died May 10 at the age of 91. Rev. Alvin Kleinsasser officiated. Thiessen is survived by his widow, the former Marie Wiebe, three sons, Henry of rural Newton and Edgar and Wilferd of rural Whitewater; a daughter, Martha, of the home; 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
