AGNES THIESEN

Agnes Thiesen was born to Jacob J. and Katherine (Fast) Thiesen on May 28, 1889, at Jansen, Neb. She departed to be with Christ at the age of 85 on March 15, 1975 at Pleasant View Manor, Reedley, Calif.

She spent her youthful days at Jansen, coming to California with her parents in 1907. She lived on the farm for 48 years and in the city of Dinuba for 20 years. She was baptized on March 15, 1908.

Agnes was a loving sister, always ready to offer help to her brothers and sisters and friends, particularly in times of family need. She served as practical nurse during her younger days and sacrificed her conveniences for the service of others. As a faithful daughter she took care of her parents until their deaths. Cheerfulness and optimism were not wanting in Agnes, and her ready smile, pleasant disposition and cheerful chuckle won her the love of relatives and friends.

She attended church services as long as she could. She had a warm interest in the Ladies Missionary Sewing Fellowship. Many quilts came from her adept fingers and the knitting of booties for infants was her delight. She read the Bible through some 18 times.

She leaves four sisters, Elizabeth and husband Arthur Neufeld, Mrs. Katherine Jansen, Margaret and husband Jacob M. Dick, and Helen and husband George Peters, all of Dinuba; two brothers, Henry of Dinuba and Herman of Reedley, Calif.; 26 nephews and nieces.
