Friesland, Paraguay. — The Fernheim Colony in the Chaco as well as the sister colonies were stirred by the recent accident near the Menno colony which claimed the lives of two persons and injured a number of others.

Mrs. D. Thielmann, about 45 years old and the mother of six children, was instantly killed. She was pinned under the vehicle and suffered a crushed head and chest. Alice Bartel, a teenage high school girl and sister of the groom, died soon after she was pulled out from beneath the truck.
D. Thielman suffered a skull fracture and is still in the hospital in a serious condition. Others suffered cuts which had to be sewed up, severe bruises and minor injuries, and one person had a broken arm.
The accident occurred about two miles from Sommerfeld, Menno Colony. Three men who were not injured in the accident gave first aid to the injured and sent to Sommerfeld to get help.
