ABRAM TEICHRIEB
Abram Teichrieb died peacefully Dec. 23. He was
born Nov. 16, 1918 in Tiege, Siberia to Abram
and Anna Teichrieb. When he was 10, the family left Russia due to political tensions. They
stayed in China for two years and then settled
in Schoenau, Paraguay, where living conditions
were rough. Pastor H.B. Friesen, who would later
become his father-in-law, baptized 21-year-old
Abram. Irene Friesen and Abram were married
Nov. 9, 1946. The couple moved to Filadelfia,
Paraguay, and then immigrated to Canada in
1967. They built a home in Ladner, B.C, where
Abram worked as a cabinetmaker. After retirement, they moved to Clearbrook, B.C. Abram
always had great faith in his Lord and Saviour,
and spent much time praying and reading the
Bible. He took pleasure in sharing his faith with
family and friends, and loved to quote his favourite Bible verses. He cared for his family and
looked forward to gatherings, especially with his
grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed sipping mate tea with friends. Abram will
be remembered for his woodworking talents,
summer barbeques, and the bountiful garden
he tended. Predeceased by Irene; his only son
Theodor; he is mourned by daughters Marianne (Alex) Szajko, Kathy (Ed) Hildebrandt, and
Margita (Bruce) Davidson; 1 daughter-in-law; 10
grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
