Maryland Minister Dies Unexpectedly

Meyersdale, Pa. — D. L. Swartzendruber, minister of a small Mennonite congregation at Gortner, Md., died unexpectedly May 17 while supervising the construction of a retaining wall at Penn-Alps, Grantsville, Md. He was 72.

The funeral was held May 20 at the Gortner meeting house, with Walter Otto of Springs, Paul Bender of Belleville, and Paul Roth of Masontown officiating.
