Funeral services for Mrs. Anna May Swartz, 74, wife of J. Clyde Swartz of 3251 Elida Road, Lima, Ohio, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Salem Mennonite Church near Elida. Rev. Richard Martin officiated, assisted by Rev. Wyse Graber and Rev. James Detwiler.

Mrs. Swartz died at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 23, of a heart attack in their home at Sarasota, Florida, where she and her husband had been spending the winter months for her health. She had been a resident of the Lima area for 31 years. On Aug. 30, 1958, they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

A daughter of the late Frank and Mary Flisher, she was born in western Kansas on Sept. 22, 1884. On August 30, 1908, at La Junta, Colo. she was married to J. Clyde Swartz, who survives. She was a member of the Salem Mennonite Church.

Other survivors are seven children, four sons and three daughters. One son, Willis, preceded her in death, as did two grandchildren. Those left to mourn her departure besides her husband are Winona, at home, John C. of Stuarts Draft, Va., Vernon O. of Route 4, Lima, Ernest F. of Malvern, Pa., Weldon E. of Lima, Karen (Mrs. Charles J. rGaber [sic Graber]) of Stryker, Ohio, and Opal (Mrs. Dwight Daniels) of Lima; one brother, Jacob H. Flisher of Nampa, Ida.; 21 grandchildren, and a number of nephews and nieces. Rev. Clarence Shank of Wakarusa, Ind. is a cousin.

She was always at church services when health permitted and was very active in WMSA and willing to be of help where she could. She spent a great deal of time with her Bible and in prayer. Her vacancy in home, church and community is deeply felt.
