AARON SUTTER

Aaron, son of the late Christian and Fanny (Stalter) Sutter, was born near Hopedale, Ill. on Oct. 2, 1895, and died at his home in Manson, Iowa on Oct. 11, 1964 at the age of 69 years and 10 days.

In 1923 he was married to Lena Zehr at which time he came to Manson to live. During his first six years in Manson he owned and operated a grocery store. After selling the store, he was employed for several years in grocery stores and other business places in Manson.

In 1945 he began serving as a civil service clerk in the Manson Post Office and served in that capacity for three years. In 1948 he came to the position of postmaster and continued in that service until July 28, 1964, at which time he was taken to Lutheran Hospital at Fort Dodge for treatment of a coronary attack. He recovered temporarily and returned home after a few weeks, but found it necessary to return to the hospital for further treatment. Again returning home he seemed to be progressing satisfactorily, but a final attack Sunday morning brought death suddenly and peacefully.

He was a member of the Mennonite Church which he attended regularly and faithfully as long as health permitted.

Deeply interested in the community, he took an active part in many of its organizations and activities. The friendly and helpful manner with which he served in his work, his loyalty and devotion to his home, his family, his community, and his church will leave a testimony which will live long in the hearts and October 13, by Nick Stoltzfus and James Detweiler. Interment in Rose Hill Cemetery, Manson.
