— Mrs. Anna Suderman, 98, a resident of Newton for 91 years, died Sept. 29 at the home on East Second Street. She had ben a member of the First Mennonite Church since 1890, and funeral services were held at the church on Friday afternoon, with Dr. Albert H. Epp officiating. Mrs. Suderman, the former Anna Regier, was born in Marienburg, Germany, and came here with her parents at the age of seven. Her marriage to Jacob Suderman took place in 1903, and he died in 1908. Survivors include four daughters, Anna of the home, Mrs. G. F. Busenitz, Louise, and Mrs. P. C. Andres, all of Newton; two sons, Herman H. and Alfred C. of rural Newton; a sister, Miss Johanna Regier of the home in Newton; one brother, Dr. H. L. Regier of Kansas City, Kan.; and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

MRS. ANNA SUDERMAN

God permitted death to terminate the life of our mother, Mrs. Anna Suderman, early Wednesday morning, Sept. 29, 1971 at the age of 98 years.

She was born March 13, 1873 near Marienburg, Germany to Jacob H. and Marie Regier (nee Claassen). Mother came to this country with her parents at the age of seven and moved to a farm east of Newton, Kan.

She married Jacob Suderman in 1903, and he preceded her in death in 1908, along with two sons, Jake in 1924 and Paul in 1937. She was baptized by Elder Jacob Toews on May 25, 1890, and remained a faithful member at First Mennonite.

Surviving are the following: daughter, Anna; her sister, Johanna Regier, of the home; Mrs. G. F. (Marie) Busenitz; Louise Suderman; Mrs. P. C. (Minnie) Andres; Herman H. and Edna Suderman; Alfred and Matilda Suderman; Rev. and Mrs. Walter Dyck of Danvers, Ill.; one brother, Dr. H. L. Regier of Kansas City, Kan. Her many grandchildren were great delight to her.

We will remember mother’s great love and faith and patient longing for that fuller life with her Lord and Saviour. — The Family.
