JACOB A. SUDERMAN

Jacob Aron Suderman of Clearbrook, B.C. passed away on March 14. He was born January 25,1908 in Steinau, southern Russia,oldest child of Aron and Agathe (nee Leppky) Suderman. When he was 18 he emigrated to Canada with his grandparents and started work as a farm laborer in the Waldheim (Sask.) district. On August 11, 1929, upon confession of faith, he was baptized by Rev . Jacob Lepp and received into the Dalmeny Mennonite Brethren Church. He was married on December 7, 1930 to Susie (nee Buhler) Bartsch, a young widow with four small children. They settled on a farm about three miles north-east of Dalmeny and lived there till 1962, when they moved to Saskatoon and continued to farm till retirement. The local church was always regarded as very vital in his life, and together with his wife he served in various capacities. In 1973 they moved to Clearbrook, B.C. His family remembers him as a man of constant faith in his Saviour, and devotion to his family and church. He leaves to mourn his wife Susie; his children Linda and Henry Baerg, Dalmeny, Rubin and Tina Bartsch, St. Catharines, Ont., Elma and Bill Penner, Saskatoon, Eveline and John Schellenberg, Abbotsford, B.C., Esther and Neil Heinrichs, Winnipeg, Viola and Jake Froese, Nipawin, Sask., Henry and Eunice Suderman, Dolores and Jake Teichroeb, Saskatoon, and Shirley and Henry Krause, Lethbridge, Alta.; 41 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters and two brothers. The funeral service was held on March 19 in the Central Heights Mennonite Brethren Church, Abbots ford, with pastor Rudy Boschman officiating.
